The Simplenote app by Automattic, Inc is now available for Android. This light and clean note taking app is focused on speed and efficiency.

Simplenote for Android allows you to keep notes, lists, ideas and more in a simplest way. You can add tags and pins to keep your notes organized.

Also the instant search feature would help you a lot.

Use it locally right away or create an account to bacup your nots online and sync with other devices. However, it is very basic and has not many options in the first release. More features should be added in the next.

Note: This app was updated to version 1.0.0 on 2013/09/13. For note taking apps, you could also try Evernote or Evernote for Android.
